I Can't Get You Out of My Mind, Rusty. I've gone thru a photo, quick sketch, a charcoal and now this pastel of my friend Rusty. As some of you already know, I watched him for a month and was totally in awe as to how well he maneuvered around his home. As Rusty was 18 years old, blind and deaf, truly an extraordinary cat. I was called a few months back by my son to tell me Rusty passed away, curled up on his owners bed. He passed 5 months after I met him. Featured in Old Masters and Painters, 5/29/16.

Yes Viva, he surely was an evocation in every way and reminded me of my own imperfections. What bothered me though was how he meowed for several days and looked for me, ignoring his owners. Made me sad, yet these sweet people could only comment, "they know he was loved and well taken care of." My solace..........
